Travel opens the door to a world of opportunities: to meet with family, renew cultural ties or simply escape the daily routine. Traveling can be an adventure!
If you're not used to traveling, knowing in advance the airport procedures and how to board the plane contributes to a more pleasant journey
People who do not usually fly can use these helpful tips:
• You need to get to the airport at least an hour and half before departure of your flight. If you travel outside the U.S., should arrive two hours before flight to ensure you have enough time to meet all requirements.
• Put your name on a label both outside and inside of all his baggage. Do not close your bags unlocked, as security agents maybe opened during inspection.
• Once aboard, the row numbers are above the seats. The letters go from right to left, in alphabetical order, once you’ve boarded and facing the bottom of the aircraft. For example, if you and the seat number 5 A, is the seat of the row number 5 on the right side of window.
• Pay close attention to the flight attendants when they give instructions on safety or the use of electronic equipment on board.
• Check the flight information monitors when landing at the airport connection.
Airlines have different regulations about traveling with children. Infants under two years traveling with a parent or adult over 18 in a Continental flight within the 50 U.S. states may travel free if they sit in an adult's lap. However, for international travel, a ticket is required for infants. Normally there are discounts on the cost of a child ticket.
Diabetics can take their required medications, including syringes, on board the aircraft. Make sure you have your prescription to hand to avoid problems.
An advice: Always carry your medications in your carry-on bag on board the plane. Bon voyage!
